Years earlier, when I worked as a teacher at a social work college, I told my students on day one that I expected each of them to have an average grade of eight by the end of the year. My colleagues laughed. “You have to be realistic, Mara.”
But when all of my classes reached that exact result, the laughter turned into silence and maybe even envy.
It taught me something vital: results are not born from control, but from belief. You cannot create what you cannot see.
When I was hired to manage a team years later, the organization was in the middle of a fusion, two companies merging into one. It was chaotic, politically charged, and full of uncertainty. So, I asked my manager a simple question: “What’s your vision?” He couldn’t answer. In fact, he seemed almost intimidated by the question.
That silence told me everything. It gave me space to create a vision for my teams, but it also revealed the company’s deepest wound.
Without vision, ego takes the lead. And when leadership is rooted in ego, there’s no room for growth, only competition, insecurity, and survival.

Over the years, I’ve learned that a vision gives direction, but purpose gives life. A happy and healthy team was my vision, but my purpose went deeper: to unlock potential.

This is where we stand now: the Year of 9. The year of endings, completions, wisdom, and release.
Every story begins with a spark. In 2017, a seed was planted — in your life, in the world, in the collective field we all share. Whether you recognized it or not, you stepped into a new book of your soul. And now, in 2025, that book is turning to its final chapter.
9-year Cycle
Numerology tells us that time moves in nine-year cycles. Each year carries its own frequency, its own lessons, its own mirrors. By the end, you are no longer who you were at the beginning. You have lived, you have broken, you have healed, you have grown.
This is where we stand now: the Year of 9. The year of endings, completions, wisdom, and release.
The Energy of Number 9
The number 9 is the final number of the cycle — representing endings, maturity, wisdom, and spiritual fulfillment. It holds the frequency of the humanitarian, the healer, the old soul.

It began with a whisper. In 2017, the whisper of the number 1 stirred the air with restlessness, urging bold beginnings. People changed jobs, cities, and lovers as if fate were pushing them forward. The collective itself cracked open — Trump stepping into power, #MeToo blazing across borders like fire, silenced voices roaring into the light. The number 1 had arrived, carrying its sharp blade of individuality and daring. A seed was planted.
2018 - #2/11
In 2018, that seed found its first mirror. The number 2 — amplified by the master vibration of 11 — brought relationships, karmic contracts, and dualities to the surface. Lovers collided; some stayed, many broke. Across the collective, polarization intensified, shadows demanded to be seen. Yet something luminous bloomed: Black Panther, more than a movie, became a cultural rite, reflecting what representation and heritage could heal. The number 2 whispered that life is never lived alone; every other is a mirror showing us ourselves.
2019 - #3
2019 danced in with the laughter and chaos of the number 3. The world turned into a stage — TikTok exploding across screens, Billie Eilish bending pop into strange, haunting confession, Greta Thunberg, a lone child, challenging world leaders. Individually, voices rose. Some drowned in noise, others discovered their song. The spell of the 3 was clear: what you say shapes reality. Words are incantations.
2020 - #4/22
Then 2020 silenced the music. The number 4 — under the heavy shadow of the master builder 22 — demanded structure, truth, and accountability. The pandemic swept across the globe, shutting doors, emptying streets, forcing us to face the fragility of the systems we had built. And then came another rupture: the murder of George Floyd. The world witnessed it, and the cry of Black Lives Matter surged across continents. Centuries of injustice could no longer remain buried. Marches filled the streets from Minneapolis to London, Lagos to Amsterdam. The foundation itself shook. The builder number arrived, not to construct, but to collapse what was rotten, so the future might one day stand on truth.
2021 - #5
2021 blew in on the wild winds of the number 5. Restless, rebellious, uncontrollable. People poured into streets, rebelling against restrictions, craving freedom like oxygen. Art reflected boldness — Lil Nas X sparking outrage and ecstasy in equal measure. Individually, many broke bonds, left jobs, sought new lives. But the lesson was sharp: freedom without wisdom is chaos, rebellion without purpose is fire that burns the hand that holds it.
2022 - #6/33
By 2022, the pendulum swung toward love. The number 6 — glowing with the master light of 33 — turned humanity’s gaze back to home, family, responsibility, and healing. Questions of women’s rights and inclusivity surged; protests bloomed to defend the sacred feminine. Beyoncé’s Renaissance rose as a healing spell — community, joy, freedom, and self-expression wrapped into sound. For many, the year was tender: commitments made or broken, hearts breaking and mending. The master 33 spoke its truth: compassion is the only revolution that lasts.
2023 - #7
2023 pulled us inward. The number 7 is the mystic, the truth-seeker, the hermit. Humanity looked into mirrors of illusion, asking: What is real? Many were initiated into deeper spirituality or inner work, while others drowned in solitude. The collective mirror came in the form of AI. With ChatGPT and new technologies, we stared into the oracle of our own creation and wondered: what does it mean to be human? 7 never lies; it demanded that we look beneath the surface.
2024 - #8
By 2024, the weight of the number 8 pressed heavily upon the world. Power, money, authority, and karma stood on trial. Wars raged, elections revealed divides, economies strained. Billionaires launched rockets while ordinary people fought for survival. In personal lives, money and career became pressing tests. The karmic hand of 8 revealed itself clearly: those who abused power fell, those who held it with integrity grew. Power was never the goal; it was the mirror.
2025 - #9
And now we arrive at 2025. The elder number. The lantern-bearer of closure. The 9 stands at the edge of the cycle and says: It is finished. This is the year of completions, of sacred endings that cannot be avoided. Relationships that have run their course will fade. Projects without soul will close. Identities that once defined you will feel too small to wear. It is not cruelty; it is liberation. Nine does not come to punish — it comes to graduate you.
Collectively, this year will echo with exits: governments shifting shape, cultural icons stepping off the stage, movements reaching their final act. Nostalgia will hang thick in the air, because the soul, yours, mine, ours, is reviewing the story of these nine years. The number 9 asks us to forgive, to release, to empty our arms so that they are free to hold the seed of 2026.
The Cycle: 2017-2025
This cycle, from 2017 to 2025, was no ordinary one. It carried the sacred trinity of master vibrations:
11 in 2018 awakening us through karmic mirrors;
22 in 2020 collapsing false foundations;
33 in 2022 teaching us compassion through love.
Rarely do all three appear in one cycle. Humanity has been in accelerated initiation, pressed into truth, broken open to rebuild, softened into compassion. We are not who we were nine years ago.
And so 2025 calls us to pause. To bow to the story we have lived. To look at each chapter and ask:
What was its gift? What did it break? What did it teach? What is ready, finally, to end?
